Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Gray Butler, 87, of 51 Casey Rd. passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024, at her home with her beloved husband by her side.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, May 21 at 11:00 AM at the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Penny Ziemer officiating. The family will receive friends following the services at the cemetery, and other times at the home.
Born on May 25, 1936, in Dillon, SC Dot was the daughter of the late William Howard and Elizabeth Angalin Herring Gray. She was a member of Carr Memorial Christian Church and attended as her health permitted. She was employed with Carolina Telephone with 42 years of service.
Dot is survived by her loving & devoted husband of 31 years, Frank D. Butler of the home; two sisters: Helen Timmer of San Pandro, CA. and Betty Davis of Henderson, Nevada; brother, Farrell Gray of Zephyrhills, Florida; stepdaughter, Julie Butler Spatorico (Rob) of Fayetteville; stepson, Todd Butler (Pamela) of Leland; two stepgranddaughters: Enya Butler, and Rachel Pierce; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her son, Haynes Edwards; sister, Joann Barton; and brother, William Howard Gray, Jr.
In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made in Dot’s memory to Carr Memorial Christian Church, 91 Carr Church Rd., Clinton, NC 28328, and or a charity of one's choice.
