Donald Ray Potter Obituary

Turkey

Mr. Donald Ray Potter, Sr., 64, of 316 Sandy Acres Lane died at Genesis Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Olive Thursday September 16, 2021.

A Memorial service will be held at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday evening, September 21, 2021 at 6:00 pm with Rev. Bobby Herring officiating. Family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Born in 1956 in Sampson County, Donald was the son of the late Roy McDonald and Juanita Faye Thornton Potter and widower of Debbie Bass Potter. He was a former member of the Clinton Sampson Rescue Squad and a retired law enforcement officer. Don will be remembered by a host of young men and women in Sampson County as “Pops”.  He was always ready with a kind word, joke, advice or story to keep them entertained. If he was able, he loved to fish, especially surf fishing. He was a man who found "peace" with a fishing pole in hand.   He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

He is survived by two sons: Donald Ray "Junior" Potter, Jr. and wife Teresa and Alex Potter all of Turkey; two grandchildren: Danielle Potter and McKayla Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Potter Family.
