David Ray Bradshaw

Mr. David Ray Bradshaw, 81, of 2120 Feed Mill Rd., Roseboro, passed away on Friday morning, June 23, 2023 at his home.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, June 25, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Elam Baptist Church, 2211 Mt. Elam Church Rd., Roseboro, with Rev. Brandon Glunt officiating. A private burial will follow the service, in the Shady Grove Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Born on February 11, 1942 in Sampson County, David Ray was the son of the late Gorman and Flora Mae Lee Bradshaw.  He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and a member of Mt. Elam Baptist Church. He retired from Carolina Telephone and after retirement, he continued working with hog farming. If you didn’t find him in a hog house, you could find him in a canteloupe or watermelon field.  David Ray was a hard-working man and would do anything for anyone.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.  

He is survived by his daughter, Sarah Kelli Johnson & husband, Dr. Cliff Johnson of Arden; son, Jeff Bradshaw of Roseboro; two grandchildren: Jaden and Sawyer Bradshaw; four sisters: Virginia Capps of Rocky Point, Connie Lee of Clinton, Judy Gurley of Raleigh, Nadine Strickland of Newton Grove and one brother, Grady Bradshaw of Roseboro.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Jackson Bradshaw.  

The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 pm, in the Church Fellowship Hall. 

The family would like to express their appreciation to all the nurses with 3HC for their compassion and kindness shown to them, and also to everyone for their prayers, cards, calls and visits made to David Ray during his illness.
