Dallas Adolph Harrell 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at home with his family by his side.

Mr. Harrell was born on February 5, 1939 in Sampson County to Carrie M. Harrell and F. Fred Tyndall. Dallas attended Clinton High School where he played Defensive Back with #36 on his jersey and graduated in 1958 after receiving a football scholarship, but decided to join the Army instead. After his service, he worked for the N.C. Prison Department. Dallas married Mary Herring and they had two boys, Mark and Jon. Soon after he joined the Navy. While in Norfolk, VA., their daughter Robin was born. Dallas served on board the USS Pocono, USS Raleigh, and USS Carpenter. Dallas retired in 1977.

Dallas was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother Mary Lou Carter, wife Wilma Harrell, and great-granddaughter, Addyson Nicole Edge.

Dallas is survived by his three children, Mark A. Harrell (Debbie), Jon M Harrell (Leslie), Jenifer Robin Harrell. Grandchildren, Chelsea Brewington (Daniel), Amber Edge (Dustin), Christopher Harrell (Dusty), Joshua Harrell (Summer), Jocelyn Miah Harrell, and Brandy Anderson. Great- Grandchildren, Levi Harrell, Reid Hall, Peyton Edge, Landon Edge, Skylar Wallace, and Jaxson Wallace. He is also survived by his former wife, Mary Herring and Elizabeth Harrell.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 3 from 5 PM until 7 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel, 301 McKoy St., Clinton, NC. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at 1:00 PM at Grandview Memorial Park, 2809 US 421N, Clinton, NC. with Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating.
