Ms. Cynthia Elizabeth Hobbs Grider, 67, of 1782 Old Raleigh Rd., passed away Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Vidant Hospice House in Greenville.
A Private Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, December 9th at 1:00PM in the Clinton Cemetery with Rev. E.C. Mattocks officiating. (The family asks that masks be worn, and social distancing be observed.)
Born in 1953 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, Cynthia was the daughter of Doris Florence Boyette Hobbs and the late Howard Carr Hobbs and was the widow of Charles Grider. She was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and a Secretary for the City of Clinton for many years. Cynthia enjoyed life, her family and church family and will greatly be missed.
She is survived by her son, who was her life, Michael Howard Grider and fiancée, Nichole of Clinton; two sisters: Milly Hobbs Foushee and husband, Jack of Monroe, Georgia and Lydia Hobbs Herring and husband, Gary of Clinton; mother, Doris Boyette Hobbs also of Clinton; her nieces and nephew: Lauren Wade West, Jessica Foushee Sinclar, Jenny Foushee Johnson and Ben Wade; and her two grandchildren: Jazmine Gregory and Collin White.
The family will receive friends following the graveside service on Wednesday and other times at her mothers’ home, 1782 Old Raleigh Rd. Clinton.
