Ms. Christine Smith Ellis, 89, of 1022 Kitty Fork Rd., passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Kitty Askins of Goldsboro.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, August 25, at 3:00 PM at Owen Grove PFW Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Born on July 15, 1935, in Sampson County, Christine was the daughter of the late Charlie Thomas and Kathleen Peterson Smith and the widow of the late William Ruthes “Bill” Ellis. She was a member of Colonial Heights FreeWill Baptist Church and was an operator with Carolina Telephone for over thirty years until her retirement. She was passionate about serving others, but most importantly the Lord.

She is survived by her son, Jackie Dewayne Ellis of Clinton; two granddaughters: Natalie Baker, and husband, Jamie, and Nicole Peterson, and husband, Chad all of Clinton; two great-grandchildren: Ivey Kate Peterson and McCray Peterson; and countless extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 at the church and other times at her home.
