Ms. Carol Anne Penzer Conner, 80 of Salemburg NC, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Elder Ryan Krivulka and servant Jackson Lassiter officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Salemburg.
Carol Anne was born August 1, 1944 in Richmond VA. She was the daughter of George W. Penzer and Virginia Vaughan Penzer.
Carol Anne was affectionately called “Nana” by all that knew and loved her. She married her husband Alvin early in life, and was his devoted wife for over 60 years even providing his care once his health failed. She was a mother to 3 children, rearing them all to be loving, kind, and humble as much as she was. Nana was a beautiful person inside and out who loved her family tremendously. She was equally devoted to her God Jehovah. Nana shared God’s word and the good news with everyone that would listen in a public ministry. Nana wrote and mailed letters daily once her health limited her outings, spreading hope for a paradise future.
In addition to her parents, Carol Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Ray “Crosstie” Conner Sr.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Conner of Danville VA, Stefani Conner Lassiter (Al) of Niceville FL; son Alvin R “Buddy” Conner Jr (Tiffany) of Salemburg. Brothers, George Penzer Jr and Warren Penzer both of Scottsburg, VA. Grandchildren, Ashleigh Lassiter Krivulka (Ryan), Jackson Lassiter (Abbygail), Caleb Lassiter, Tabor Lassiter (Kaylor), Wrenza Lassiter and one soon to be great-granddaughter, Rosie Lassiter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday beginning at 12:30 PM at Royal Hall Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
