Calvin "Carl" Deans, III

Mr. Calvin “Carl” Deans, III, 56 (Formerly of Clinton) passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his home.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 11, at 2:00 PM at Clinton Cemetery with Dr. Ray Ammons officiating.

Born in 1967 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Carl was the son of Katie Smith Deans and of the late Calvin Carl Deans, Jr. Carl was a member of First Baptist Church of Clinton. He was a 1985 graduate of Clinton High School. He graduated from UNCW in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.  He spent his career in mortgage lending.  His most favorite place to be was at Topsail Island, NC.  He spent his summers there fishing and enjoying the beach life.  He was an avid Tarheels fan and enjoyed following their football and basketball programs.  He loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and always looked forward to family gatherings.  He was very tender-hearted, especially when it came to caring for his cats.  Carl will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Carl is survived by his mother, Katie Smith Deans of Clinton; sister, Jennifer D. Lewis (Rocky) of Southport, NC.; brother, Scott Alan Deans of Portland, Oregon; nephew, Cole Lewis, and nieces, Paige and Claire Lewis.

The family will receive friends following the services at the Cemetery and other times at the home of his mother, 501 Carolina Ave. Clinton, NC.
