Mr. Bobby Huntley Lamb, 91 of 931 Lisbon Bridge Rd. passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Southwood Nursing and Rehabilitaton Center in Clinton.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 23 at 3:00 PM at Ingold Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Aldrich and Rev. Byron Bass officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Ingold Cemetery.

A native of Sampson County, born on August 20, 1929, Bobby was the son of the late Edwin Turlington Lamb and Fraulein Burch Lamb of Ingold, NC, and the husband of Joyce Grantham Lamb.  He attended Mars Hill and was a graduate of NC State University and a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Korean War. After serving his country, he began his teaching career at Meadow where he met the love of his life, Joyce. They married and made their home in Ingold, where they raised their four children.  He was an agriculture teacher at Garland High School, where he enjoyed coaching basketball and baseball and was named “Coach of the Year” several years. He was also an agriculture teacher at Union High School and very involved with FFA. He was a very active member of  his community, in both the sports arena, as well as in his church.  He was a dedicated member of Ingold Baptist Church where he was a deacon and choir director for many years. He enjoyed farming and hunting, but most of all, he loved his Lord and his family. Bobby was a passionate man who had a heart of gold. He was dedicated to his family, church, and friends and his gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixty-four years, Joyce Grantham Lamb; two daughters: Sandra L. Matthis and husband, Doug of Roseboro, Amelia K. Lamb of Wilmington; one son, Wayne H. Lamb and wife, Julie of Ingold; sister, Anna Jean Bass;  nine grandchildren: Eric Matthis, Jared Matthis, Brandon Matthis (Carmen), Brittany Matthis, Matthew Moore (Morgan), Daniel Moore (Brittany), Jenna M. Wells (Steven), Justin Lamb and Carrie Osborne (Dusty); and ten great-grandchildren: John Marshall Moore, Dawson Moore, Hadley Moore, Townsen Moore, Emma Wells, Harrison Wells, Landyn Lamb, Laycie Lamb, Riley Osborne and Henry Osborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Nancy L.Moore of Ivanhoe, His sister Edna L. Aldrich of Charlotte, and his brother Edwin Earl Lamb of Wilmington.

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Saturday evening, May 22nd from 6-8 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home; and other times at his home.
