Mr. Billy C. Lockamy, 72, of Odom Rd. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home with Rev. Rodney Hall officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born on November 10, 1948 in Sampson County, Billy was the son of the late William and Mary Huggins Lockamy. Billy was married to the love of his life for thirty-one years, the late Julia Marie Peacock Lockamy, who passed away three years ago. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving his country in the Vietnam war and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was an active member of Allegiant Church & Creative Ministries. He was always tinkering in his workshed, either building something, fixing something or working in the yard. He also loved buying tractors, especially John Deere, and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke. More than anything, he loved his family and adored his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters: Linda Edwards and husband, Jason of Clinton; Angela Mercer of Clinton and Michelle Skozlas and husband, Rich of New York; six grandchildren: Cassidy Edwards, Turner Edwards, Christopher Royal, Michaela Mercer, Olivia and Declan Skozlas; three great-grandchildren: Savannah Lucas, Carson Royal and Adam Hazelwood; four brothers: Johnny Lockamy, JC Lockamy, Donald Lockamy, James Lockamy (Coety) and three sisters: Carolyn Autry, Brenda Fryar and Judy Hall.
In addition to his parents and wife, Julia, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Sturgill and a brother, John William Lockamy.
Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service beginning on Thursday at the funeral home; and other times at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jason Edwards at 82 Oxendine Lane, Clinton.
Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Lockamy family.
