Berniece Depew Robinson Rhodes, 88, passed away Monday morning, March 20, 2023, at her home, with her loving family by her side.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 24th at 2:00 PM at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Visitation with family and friends will follow the service at the funeral home.

Born in 1934 in Missouri, Berniece was the daughter of the late Clifford and Pearl Painter Depew.  She was the widow of Walter S. “Tim” Robinson.  She retired from  Barcalounger in Turkey and Garland Shirt Factory. Berniece lived her life working hard and supporting her family. She loved to crochet and sew quilts. She made sure all the new babies in the neighborhood had a soft, crocheted baby blanket, and all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a quilt made by her loving hands. Those quilts will be cherished forever. More than anything she was a wonderful mama, grandma, and “Niece” to her great-grandkids, whom she adored.

Berniece leaves behind her daughter, Sheila Hobbs, and son, Joe Robinson, both of Rose Hill; her daughter-in-law, Jane P. Robinson of Turkey; seven grandchildren: Chris Williams (Nichol), Jessica Freeman (Brady), Melissa Robinson Bass (Matthew), Jeremy Robinson (Bridgett), Jason Robinson (Nicole), Timothy Robinson, Katie Smith (Justin) and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her faithful furry kitty, Susie-Q. 

In addition to his parents, and first husband, Tim, she was preceded in death by her son, Tony Robinson and her daughter-in-law, Cindy Jones Robinson.
