Audry Lee Starling Kerr, 80, of Clinton, NC, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025.
Born on January 12,1944, in Roseboro, North Carolina, Audry was the youngest daughter of Flossie Kathleen Cogdell Starling and Dr. Wyman Plato Starling. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her husband, Edwin William Kerr, Junior.
Audry was a graduate of Marjorie Webster Junior College, and spent her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished her family above all else. Among her happiest memories were those spent at Wrightsville Beach with her loved ones.
Audry had an infectious personality and a zest for living a big and colorful life, which was particularly evident in her natural flair for decorating and fashion. She enjoyed many hobbies including cooking, playing bridge, bingo, and savoring her iced tea and crushed ice in a styrofoam cup. Gardening was one of her greatest joys, as well as sharing her flowers with others.
Audry is survived by her four children: Audry Bunn (Chip), Lee Fonvielle (Henry), Will Kerr (Leigh Ann), and John Kerr (Laura-Burke), as well as her nine grandchildren: Elizabeth, Catherine, John Timothy, McLean, Louise, Grace, Annie, Frances and Ellie and one great-grandson, Barrett. They were the light of her life. Audry is survived by her two sisters, Margaret Rose Starling Watkins, Dorothy Sue Starling Faison, and sister-in-law, Betty Kerr Wells. She also had many adoring nieces and nephews that she thought of as her own. Her legacy of love, warmth, and dedication to her family will live on in her family.
A private service and burial will be held on January 16th at Graves Memorial Presbyterian Church, with a public visitation in the Fellowship Hall at 2:30 pm.
Audry will be deeply missed, but her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Royal-Hall is honored to serve the Kerr family.
