Mrs. Adelle Carter Roper, 91 of 215 E. Pollock St died at Warsaw Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw. Friday, September 6, 2024.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Warsaw Free Will Holiness Church at W. Plank St. in Warsaw with the Rev. Ronnie Ezzell, The General Overseer of the Trent River F.W. Holiness Association, Rev. Dr. Teresa Ammons & Rev. Albert Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.
Born in 1933 in Duplin County, Mrs. Roper was the daughter of the late William Alsie and Cathleen Summerlin Carter. She was a licensed minister with the Trent River Free Will Holiness Conference and an active prayer warrior with her dear friend of 40+ years, Mrs. Barbara Watts of Hopewell, Va. She was the widow of Thomas Roper.
She is survived by one son, Milton Mathis of New Port, NC, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Arnold and Gilbert Mathis. Also four sisters and four brothers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral at the church beginning at 1:00 on Wednesday.
