Mrs. Virginia Rhodes Gurganious, 94, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Southwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Clinton.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 8th at Harrells Cemetery with Rev. Tom Murray officiating.
Born on November 19, 1923 in Duplin County, Virginia was the daughter of the late Samuel Wright and Beulah Frances Teachey Casteen and the widow of Deleon T. Gurganious. She was a retired farmer and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church of Harrells.
She is survived by her son, Robert Wayne Gurganious of Clinton; one sister, Effie Chesnutt of Wilmington; two grandchildren: Leslie Stotts and James Gurganious; two great-grandsons: Luke and Dillon Stotts; two nieces: Mary Frances Hobbs and Lucinda Lee; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by five sisters and five brothers.
A visitation will be held following the service on Thursday morning at the cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of Southwood Nursing & Rehab Center for their compassionate care shown to Mrs. Virginia during the last few years.
