Vennie Simmons Reynolds

Mrs. Vennie Simmons Reynolds, 79, of 3025 High House Rd., passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2017 with her family by her side.  

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Piney Green Baptist Church, 6040 High House Rd, Salemburg with Pastor Donald Keith Carter and Rev. Michael Brainerd officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Born on March 13, 1938 in Sampson County, Vennie was the daughter to the late Gladys Butler and Reddin Oscar Simmons.  She was the bookkeeper for Thornton Chevrolet of Clinton for thirty years and was employed at Prestage Farms until retirement.   She was a devoted member of Piney Green Baptist Church, having raised all her children there with the desire for them to love Jesus as she did.   Her faith, family and church were the most important things in her life. She was a precious woman, who was loved and respected and many people considered her their “best friend”.  She will definitely be missed by all who knew her.   

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Mr. L.A. "Shorty" Reynolds of the home; three daughters: Genie Brainerd (Michael) of Clinton; Nina Fette (Ralph) of Robbinsville; Erica Keelen (Allan) of Jacksonville, Florida; and a son, Daryl Reynolds (Mary) of Flagler Beach, Florida.  She was also blessed with six grandchildren: Ben, Jack & Rebecca Reynolds; Peter, Jacob & Samantha Brainerd; and four great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Wilbert, Harold, Robert and Estel Simmons.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 14 2017 from 6-8 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home; and other times at her home.
