We wanted to be sure to express our thoughts to you and your family. We very much ch enjoyed getting to know Clinton through people like Carroll. He was an interesting guy to say the least.

Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs have been fine neighbors to my parents for many years, and they've been family friends for as long as I can remember. On the day of my father's memorial service, I reviewed my eulogy notes alone while eating a treat that Mr. Hobbs brought to the house--a cinnamon-and-raisin biscuit from Hardee's (one of my favorites, ever). Also, Mr. Hobbs should be remembered for his important contributions to Grove Park Baptist Church as a trustee, one of a small handful of people who quietly advised the church on essential decisions about finance. The church's future has been shaped in a positive way by Mr. Hobbs and others who worked with him. I'm sending good thoughts to Mrs. Hobbs, Thomas, and the entire family.. We have lost another good man.

Mrs. Hobbs, I was sorry to learn of Carroll's passing in yesterday's News and Observer. My thoughts are with your family during this time. You may recall that you were my fourth grade teacher at College St. May God bless you and Thomas now and in the days to come.

There are not many people at all that showed my dad the caring and kindness that you did during his sickness. Your visits were enjoyed and much appreciated. You will truly be missed.

I have lost a very dear friend in Carroll. He was so good to Dale during his illness, constantly doing things for him and with him. I will miss our conversations during my visits with him and Harriett. Rest in peace my friend and know that you were loved and appreciated for your acts of kindness to me and my family.
