Mrs. Sudie Carter Starling, 90 of 3585 Cedar Creek Rd. passed away at her home Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Starling will be held Tuesday, March 5th 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 4170 Tabor Church Rd., Fayetteville, with Rev. Don Baldwin and Rev. Stephen Lloyd officiating.
Born on August 8, 1927 in Cumberland County, Mrs. Starling was the daughter of the late James Gaddis and Rebecca Jane Everette Carter and the widow of Alton L. Starling. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and a retired farmer and homemaker. She loved flowers, especially azaleas, and also had a special talent of quilting, having created numerous quilts for her family and friends, which will be cherished for years to come.
She is survived by five daughters: Virginia S. Williams of Autryville; Billie Sue Sessoms and husband, Bruce of Autryville; Becky S. Clark and husband, Terry of Cameron; Ada S. Dunham and husband, Tommy of Fayetteville; Sylvia S. Willis and husband, Emmett of Elizabethtown; two sons: Grady Starling and wife, Julie of Fayetteville and Curtis Starling and wife, Terri, of Fayetteville. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Alton W. “Big Boy” Starling and Lonnie Gaddis Starling; a granddaughter, Jamie Dunham DuBose; and her siblings: brothers: Garland, Garfield and Roy; and sisters: Annie and Daisy.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, March 5th from 6-8 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St. Fayetteville; and other times at her home.
