Roscoe Carter Obituary

Mr. Roscoe Carter, 89, of 5112 Reedsford Rd., passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

 A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 8th at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Bullock and Rev. Matthew Burris officiating.  Burial will be held privately.

 Born on May 26, 1929 in Sampson County, Roscoe was the son of the late George and Lillie Ruth Hill Carter and widower of Margaret Ethel Hope Carter. He attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and a farmer all his life. He was a retired auto mechanic and enjoyed watching Westerns. He was a good man with a big heart and loved spending time with his family. He will definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.

 He is survived by his two daughters: Hilda Carter Naylor of Clinton, Linda Carter Dail and husband, Buddy of Mt. Olive; sister, Ramona Wheeler; brother, Shine Carter both of Clinton; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents and wife, Roscoe was preceded in death by his son, Julius Tom Carter; four brothers: LJ Carter, Lonnie Carter, Victor Carter and Johnny Carter; and sister, Annie Ruth Whitehead.

 Visitation will be held following the service on Saturday, from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm; and other times at his home.

 The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the entire staff of 3HC and Kitty Askins for their outstanding care and kindness shown to Mr. Roscoe during his illness.
