Rev. Ralph W. Jernigan, 89, formerly of 104 Wiley Fox Rd., went home to be with the Lord early Saturday morning, December 1st, 2018, at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living in Newton Grove.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Clinton Community Church with Rev. Wiley Clark, Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan and Rev. Dwayne Dunning officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born in 1929 in Wayne County, Rev. Jernigan was the son of the late Lewis and Mary Jane Barwick Jernigan. He was a member of the Clinton Community Church and a retired minister. He was a pastor for over forty years with the Pentecostal Holiness Denomination.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eloise Layne Jernigan; daughter, Lynn Jernigan Wood and husband, Ricky of Wallace; son, Ralph W. Jernigan, Jr. and wife, Sara of Forest, Virginia; brother, Charles Jernigan and wife, Patricia of Clinton; five grandchildren: Christopher Wood, Jonathan Wood, Justin Wood, Miriam Spalding, Andrew Jernigan; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Rolling Ridge Assisted Living for their compassionate care and kindness shown to Rev. Jernigan while a resident at their wonderful facility.
