NEWTON GROVE — Mr. Perry E. Hope, 83, passed away at his home Tuesday, November 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
Funeral Services to celebrate his life will be held Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2pm at St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church, 14061 Hobbton Hwy, Newton Grove with Rev. Frank Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
Born on June 21, 1935, Perry was the son of the late Franklin Deleon and Athea Shipp Hope. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church. He worked for thirty years with Duke Medical Center as a Registered EEG Technologist. He was a quiet man, who enjoyed the beach and Duke basketball. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, whom he adored.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne Byrd Hope; daughter, Audrey Hope Broome (Michael) of Creedmoor; son, Mark Alan Hope (Sherry) of Newton Grove; sister, Gracie Bowman (Bill) of Longs, SC; brother, Billy Hope (Barbara) of Clinton; and three grandchildren: Alexandra Broome, Marcus Hope and Evan Hope.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 12:30 pm, in the sanctuary of the church; and other times at his home.
