Mrs. Norma Elizabeth Hudson West, 92, of 501 Walking Stick Trail, passed away Wednesday May 9th, 2018 at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 12 at 2pm at Turkey Baptist Church with Dr. Ronald Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.
Born on August 24th, 1925 in Sampson County, Norma was the daughter of the late George Washington and Mamie Ada Dudley Hudson and was the widow of the late Robert Van Ness and William “Bill” West. She was a graduate of Turkey High School, member of Turkey Baptist Church and the Office Manager at United Mine Workers of America in Washington, DC until retiring and returning home to Sampson County.
Norma is survived by her brother; David Dwight Hudson of Turkey; sister-in-law, Sue Hudson; nephews: Billy Gene Coward (Urania), George Dewey Hudson, Jr. (Nell), Dennis Dwight Hudson (Dianne), Gary Alan Hudson (Michelle), Michael Keith Hudson, Elwood “Woody” Hudson (Sherri), George Carlton Hudson (Lori), George Alan Bundy (Maureen), Pelman Jart Hudson, Jr. (CeCe), Sampson "Sammy" Hudson, Jr. (Janet), Ronnie Hudson, Tommy Hudson and David Dwight Hudson, Jr. (Phyllis); nieces: Jewel H. Cannady (Roy), Glenda H. Powers, Peggy H. Pollock (Ken), Sherry H. Woodley (Fleet), Julie H. Malone (Michael), Karla H. Fay (Steve), Karen Ada Hudson, Lisa H. Storey (Dan) and Melinda H. Creech (Chris); and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters: Glorestine Hudson, Christine Hudson, Virginia Bundy, Corneta Jane Coward and six of her brothers: Huey Hudson, Sampson Monroe Hudson, Elwood Hudson, James Daniel Hudson, Dewey Hudson and Pelmon Hudson.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the church sanctuary; and other times at her home.
