Nan Smith Obituary

Mrs. Nan Casey Smith, 71, of 1000 Raleigh Rd. passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, December 2nd at 3pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born on July 1, 1947 in Sampson County, Nan was the daughter of the late Lamb Casey and Edna Darden Casey Powell.  She was a medical transcriptionist and Charter Member of Grace United Methodist Church. 

She is survived by her husband, Hayward Smith; daughter, Anna Smith DeVaul and husband, Dr. Chanson A. DeVaul of Goldsboro; son, Casey Smith of Kinston; grandson, Chandler Grant DeVaul; granddaughter, Addison Grace DeVaul; and two stepsisters: Janet King and husband, Thomas of Clinton and Hilda Farmer of Goldsboro.

The family will receive family and friends prior to the service beginning at 2pm at the funeral home, and other times at her home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 800 Smith St., Clinton, NC  28328.
