Louise Smith, 90, of 45 Wright Place transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Mary Gran Nursing Center. She was a beloved mother, Maw-Maw, and friend to many.
Louise was born on February 21, 1928, in Lowell, N.C. to Robert and Moena Reid. She was a member of Clinton Community Church where she loved her “Moving On Up” Sunday School Class. Mrs. Smith leaves behind one daughter Paula and son-in-law, David Hoffman. Other surviving family members are: brothers, Leary Reid (Caroline) of Newton, NC and Flay Reid (Joyce) of Columbia, SC; sister Wanda Thompson of Prior Lake, MN. She also leaves behind: four beloved grandchildren: Kylie Smith (Chad) of Magnolia, Candace Coleman (Benjamin) of Roseboro, Natalie Pope (Duell) of Clinton, and Matthew Hoffman (Holly) of Faison; eight great-grandchildren, Perry and Abbie Clare Smith, Joseph and Isaac Coleman, Henry and Turner Rose Pope, John Matthew and Rilynn Ember Hoffman who all were her pride and joy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, John, of 49 years and by her parents, grandparents, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A visitation will be held by the family at Royal Hall Funeral Home in Clinton on Friday, December 21st from 6pm to 8pm. A private graveside service will follow the next day at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton, N.C.
