Mrs. Linda Radford Matthis, 71, of 171 Raven Lane, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Sampson Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Matthis officiating. Burial will follow at Red Hill Universalist Church Cemetery, located at 7031 Taylors Bridge Hwy. in Clinton.
Born on July 27, 1945 in New Hanover County, Linda was the daughter of the late Rayburn Newell and Marian Hunt Radford and the widow to David Keith “Chub” Matthis. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a bank teller for twenty years at First Citizens in Clinton and a Worthy Matron with Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son, Christopher Keith Matthis and wife, Audrea of Clinton; her grandson, Gavin Keith Matthis; her sister, Donna Radford Honeycutt and husband, W.E., of Autryville; and a special caregiver & friend, Sandy Watson Reyes.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Newell Radford.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday, beginning at 12:30 pm, at the funeral home, and other times at her son’s home located at 161 Raven Lane in Clinton.
