Mr. Howard Carson Byrd 82, of 75 Byrd Lane, passed away with his family by his side Friday, June 28, 2019 at Duke-Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1st, at 3:00PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery.

Born in 1937 in Sampson County, Carson was the son of the late Howard and Essie Vivian Pender Byrd. He was a veteran of the United States Army and an Insurance Adjuster with Travelers Insurance Co.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Grace Holmes Byrd; sister, Joyce Brown of Benson; special friend, Jenny Byrd and special cousins Pinda and Patrick Byrd all of Turkey and several neices and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00PM and other times at his home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity in Carson’s memory.
