Doris Virginia (Hoskins) Bass

Mrs. Doris Virginia Hoskins Bass, 83, of 129 Heath St., passed away Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at DaySpring Assisted Living in Wallace.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 2pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Weeks and Rev. Joel Story officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Park.

Born on June 22nd, 1935 in Wayne County, Doris was the daughter of the late Herman Dixon and Katie Hope Hoskin and the widow of Roy Bass. She was a former employee of Hamilton Beach and a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.

Doris is survived by her two sons: Kenneth Ray Bass and wife, Kathy of Mt. Olive and David Wayne Bass and wife, Becky of Hampton, VA.; a sister, Edna Grady of Mt. Olive; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Hoskins and her sister, Marie Wimbley.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 1pm at the chapel at the funeral home.
