Mrs. Dixie Byrd Ezzell, 68 of 11430 Taylors Bridge Hwy., passed away Saturday, October 27th, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 31st at 11:00AM at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Brown & Rev. Ray Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Church Cemetery.
Born on May 26th, 1950 in Sampson County, Dixie was the daughter of Rosa Lee Autry and the late Edward Odell Byrd. Dixie was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and a graduate of Miller Motte Business College. She was an Accounting Supervisor for Ezzell Trucking, Inc. of Harrells until her retirement.
In addition to her mother, Dixie is survived by daughter Lisa Wheeler and husband Ken of Wilson, daughter Joanna Farriss and husband Andrew of Wilson, sister Connie Greeson of Pikeville, sister Teresa Hovatter of Kure Beach, granddaughter Rebekah Pierce of Wilson, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Walton Ezzell and her sister Annette Nelson.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 30th, from 6 until 8pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 41 Delway Hwy. Rose Hill, NC.
