Mr. Clyde Ellis Smith, 68, of 610 Rowan Rd., died at his home Friday night January 11, 2019 with his family and friends by his side.
Funeral services will be held Monday January 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rickey Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Plain View Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born on December 3, 1950 in Sampson County, Clyde was the son of the late Clyde Carroll and Lela Bass Smith. He was a retired Install/repairman with Star Telephone Co. where he was a dedicated employee who took pride in his job. He also had a passion for corvettes, and a deep love for his daughter, Susan, whom his world revolved around.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Smith of Clinton; two sisters: Carolyn Kinlaw and husband, James of Clinton; Linda Jackson and husband, Bobby of Roseboro; his grandson, Haiden Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Sue Smith.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral beginning at 1:00 PM at the funeral home and other times at the home of his daughter at 775 Boney Mill Rd. Clinton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Plain View PFWB Church, Landscaping Fund, 5150 Hobbton Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328.
