Mr. Douglas Johnson McGee, 81 of 1454 Bowden Road, died at his home Wednesday, February 17, 2010

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 7:00 pm at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Deluca officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 am in the McGee Family Cemetery.

Born in 1928 in Walstonburg, NC, Mr. McGee was the son of the late Dewey T. and Ida Eunice Quinn McGee. He was a retired employee with Hamilton Beach after 18 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII, Korean and the Vietnam War. He was the widower of Beverly Keith Brown McGee.

He is survived by three sons, Douglas Johnson “Johnny” McGee, Jr. of Turkey, Martin Keith McGee of Hartselle, Alabama and Dennis Allen McGee of Greenville, SC; a sister, Gloria Jean Cavenaugh of Warsaw and two brothers, Jimmy McGee of Four Oaks and Tommy McGee of Kinston.

Ten grandchildren
Six great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by two- half-sisters, Margaret Myers Bray and Pauline Lane and two half-brothers, Hillie Myers and Ralph Myers.

The family will receive friends immediately following funeral services.
