Mr. Thomas “Carroll” Hobbs, 84, of 509 Allen Street, passed away on July 16, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill with his family by his side.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 3pm at Grove Park Baptist Church, 609 Northeast Blvd., Clinton with Dr. Gary Threatt and Rev. Michael Shook officiating. Burial will be held privately.
Born on May 26, 1933 in Sampson County, he was a son to the late Mossette Lee and Nettie Boyette Hobbs. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and a graduate of Atlantic Christian College. He was Branch Manager with First Citizens Bank and after retirement, he had a car business and always helped his customers – no matter their situation. He was a successful and hardworking man, with a big heart, compassion and was always willing to help others. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
Carroll was survived by his wife Harriette T. Hobbs; his son, Thomas Hobbs of Raleigh; three sisters: Jane Herring & husband, David of Newton Grove, Lynette Harrell & husband, Robert of Winston Salem and Mildred Rice of Clinton; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Leslie Hobbs.
