Mary "Esther" (Flowers) Williams

Mary “Esther” Flowers Williams, 94, of 668 Calvin Hobbs Rd., Faison, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, April 9th, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Millers Chapel PFWB Church, 10441 Faison Hwy, Faison with Rev. Bill Cotton and Rev. Doc Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Faison Cemetery.

Born on January 14, 1923 in Wayne County, Esther was the daughter of the late Albert and Vannie Lou Talton Flowers. She was a homemaker all her life and a member of Millers Chapel PFWB Church. 

She is survived by one daughter, Frances Coley and husband, Ralph of Pine Level; two sons: Delmas Hobbs and wife, Ann of Faison and Samuel Hobbs and wife, Annelle of Faison; twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her first husband, Mr. Earl Hobbs and recently, her second husband, Mr. Bernice Williams, after almost 50 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by two daughters: Fay Hobbs Darden, Edna Earl Hobbs; two sons: Hampton Louis Hobbs, Thomas Dewey Hobbs and one grandson, Timothy Louis Hobbs. 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 2:00 PM in the Church Fellowship Hall; and other times at her home.
