Lillie "Eleanor" Smith King

Mrs. Lillie “Eleanor” Smith King, 91 of 1387 Old US Hwy 701S, passed away Friday, September 29th, 2017 at Autumn Wind Assisted Living Facility in Roseboro.  

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 4, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Bass officiating. Burial will follow in the Ingold Cemetery.

Born on November 17th, 1925 in Sampson County, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Leroy & Eva Register Smith and was the widow of Eddis Ray King. Eleanor was a member of Ingold Baptist Church and was a telephone operator for AT&T.

Eleanor is survived by her four sons: Eddis Ray King, Jr. of Ingold, Steve King and wife, Imogene of Ingold, Michael King and wife, Carey of Portland, OR and Stanley King and wife, Theresa of Folsom, LA; four daughters: Donna King Britt and husband, John of Wilmington, Elaine King Langley of Belmont, Linda King Watkins of Durham and Teresa King Lamb and husband, Ron of Alexander City, AL;  and two sisters: Dollie Knowles and husband, J.C. of Apex and Gladys Pegram of Littleton. She was also blessed with nineteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbert Smith.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, October 3, 2017 from 6-8 pm at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel.
