Mrs. Laura Grey Rivenbark Moore, 97, of 1166 Wallace Hwy, Harrells, passed away peacefully at her son’s home on August 3, 2017 with her family by her side.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Wells Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ottis King and Rev. Joe Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in the Harrells Cemetery.

Born on March 23, 1920, Mrs. Laura was the daughter of the late Laura Jane Norris and Charles Vaden Rivenbark.  She was a member of Wells Chapel Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday School for over twenty-two consecutive years. She was happiest at home with her family, or in her flower garden. She was a precious woman, with strong faith in the Lord and deep love for her family and friends.

Mrs. Laura is survived by her three sons: Ted Moore and wife, Sandra; Kenneth Moore and wife, Lou Anna; Jim Moore and wife, Joan; her daughter, Dianne Harvell, all of Harrells; twelve grandchildren: Charles D. Moore (April), Gene Butler (Angie), Jennifer Culpepper (Travis), Kristy Smith (Nick), Kent Moore (Sky), Gary Mac Herring (Chasity), Dana Harkness (Dave), Carli Herring (Greg), Blake Moore (Greer), Matt Moore (Candace), Joanie Garey (Joe) and Will Moore(Makenzie). She was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Stedman Moore; a granddaughter, Lori Gay Moore; her sister, Mazie and her six brothers: Milbourn, Stanley, Charles, Denzmore, Benford J. and Howard Lee.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 3:00 pm in the church and other times at the home of her son, Ted Moore at 325 Tomahawk Hwy, Harrells.  

The family would like to express their appreciation to Mrs. Laura's loving caretakers, Annie Mae Merritt and MaCecilia Vasgues-Alejandre for their compassion and friendship to her over the years. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wells Chapel Baptist Church, 2070 Wallace Hwy, Wallace, NC  28398.
