What a warm and funny guy--always friendly and kind, and a bigtime sports fan. Though I hadn't seen Ricky in a while, I have many good memories of our days working at the ag research station (everybody called it the "experimental farm") in Clinton in the 1970s. Ricky and his buddy David Matthews kept us entertained constantly. I'd like to think they've found each other up there already, and now they're bringing some country silliness to heaven. I'm sad to say goodbye to my friend, and I'm sending good thoughts to his family and many friends.

Dear Joyce and family... I am so very sorry to learn of your loss of Ricky.
Fortunately, death is only a temporary part of life. Jesus promised us a wonderful resurrection of the dead (John 5:28,29/1 Thessalonians 4:13, 14), so we have the hope of being reunited with our deceased loved ones. In the meantime, even though the pain of loss through death may sometimes seem insurmountable, rest assured that God will give you the strength necessary to endure the coming months (Psalm 46:1).
