Gatsie Gray Cruse Poole Vause, 80 of 27 Keenan Street died at Rex Hospital in Raleigh on Thursday, April 12, 2018.
A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 18 at 11am at the Royal-Hall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Horne officiating. An Entombment will follow at Devotional Gardens in Warsaw.
Born in 1937 in Duplin County, Gatsie was the daughter of the late Will and Mollie Viola Uptegrove Cruse and widow of the late Willie Vause.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Gray West of Morehead City; son, Ronald Poole of Clinton; two sisters: Janice Mae Simmons of Warsaw, Alice Wheeler of Kinston; brother, Lewis Cruse of Turkey; two step-daughters: Lossie Faye Rich of Bladenboro and Lula Mae Carter of Garland. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by three brothers: William, Walter and David Cruse and three sisters: Nimmie Hall, Clyde Eaves and Lucy Smith.
The family will receive friends at Royal-Hall Funeral Home of Tuesday night, April 17 from 6-8 pm.
