Mr. Edward “Gerald” Hudson, 71, of Fayetteville (formerly of Clinton) passed away at Autumn Care of Fayetteville on Friday, September 30th 2016.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Rev. Nick Smith and Vicki Burge officiating.  A visitation for family and friends will begin at 10:00 am, one hour prior to the service at the church.    A Graveside Service will follow at 3:00 pm on Monday, at Holly Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clinton.  The family will also gather prior to the Graveside Service at Royal-Hall Funeral Home in Clinton on Monday afternoon.

Born in 1945 in Sampson County, Gerald was the son of the late Laudie Pellon and Lizzie Evelyn Tyndall Hudson. He was a member of the Village Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He had a passion for his two favorite sports teams - UNC Tarheels basketball and New York Yankees baseball. Gerald was such a sweet and loving person and he will be missed by all who knew him.  

He is survived by a sister: Jean H. Wray of Fayetteville and two brothers: H. Peter Hudson & wife Sue of Zionsville, Indiana and Ottis D. Hudson & wife Janie of Fayetteville.    

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Vernese Hudson, Celestial H. West Butler, Evelyn H. Blackburn and two brothers:  Joseph D. Hudson and Laudie Elworth Hudson.
