Mrs. Dorothy Jane Stephenson Jackson, 81, of 52 Jamestown Drive, Clinton, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 9, 2016, with her family by her side. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 2:00 pm at Clinton Community Church with Rev. Dwight Dunning and Rev. Wilda Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow in the Daughtry Family Cemetery located on Lockamy Road near Keener. 

Born on March 6, 1935 in Johnston County, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harvey and Alma Davis Stephenson and widow to Norwood Berry Jackson.  She was a member of Clinton Community Church.  She had a passion for cooking and known best for her spaghetti sauce, applejacks and teacakes.  She loved taking care of her family, especially all her grandkids, and never let anyone leave her house without feeling loved.

Mrs. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters: Judy J. Gainey & husband, Jimmy; Patsy J. Burnside & husband, John; and Pamela J. Dolin & husband, Sean, all of Clinton; her son, Johnny Norwood Jackson & wife, Brenda, also of Clinton; and five sisters: Doris Pierce of Bunnlevel; Linda Stanley of Smithfield; Dora Baker, Jean Pleasant and Brenda Wells, all of Benson. She was also blessed with fourteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers: Billy, Bobby, Gerald and Darwin Stephenson; her grandson, Brandon Taylor and great-grandson, Ethan Bartley. 

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday afternoon, one hour prior to the funeral, beginning at 1:00 in the sanctuary of the church, and other times at her home, at 52 Jamestown Drive in Clinton.
